Avant-garde
award winning fan convectors are the next
generation heat emitter. Careful and ingenious design of Dunham-Bush’s
Avant-garde allows condensing boiler plants to operate at maximum efficiency
at all times and with the minimum of capital investment.
The extensive Dunham-Bush range of Series AM and Series BM units are all
available in the Avant-garde variant. The only difference is the position
of the flow and return connections due to integration of the motorized
valve.
Traditional low-pressure hot water (LPHW) heating systems operate at 82
°C flow and 71 °C return during peak loads on both compensated (radiators
etc) and constant temperature systems (fan convectors etc). The Dunham-Bush
Avant-garde unit is designed to operates at 55 °C flow and 35 °C return
during peak loads, whilst maintaining the same duty, options and features as
the Dunham–Bush range of Series AM and Series BM fan convector heaters.

|
|
- Boiler return temperature is always below 55 °C ensuring the boiler
is in condensing mode at all times.
- Increased differential water temperatures across the coil, reduces
pumping energy by up to 87%.
- Decreased flow and return temperatures reduce standing losses from
pipe work.
- Low water content and thermal mass of unit allows rapid response
preventing a protracted warm-up period and temperature overshoot.
- Integral 4-port valve prevents wasteful natural convection during
mild conditions (2-port valve option available upon request).
- Optional brushless DC motor reduces electrical power consumption by
up to 80% compared to standard motors.
Control
The full range of controls offered in the Series AM and BM range of fan
convector heaters are available in the Avant-garde variants. Simple
arrangements include On/off thermostats and high/low thermostats. These
thermostats can be sited internally in some models and remote thermostats
are available with all models or a combination of both. In addition,
adjustable low temperature cut-out (LTC) thermostats can be fitted to
inhibit the unit if the boiler plant is not operating. Internally and
externally unit mounted switches and remote switches are available when
specified. Typical switching functions include on/off control, hand/auto,
high/low speed, low ambient selection and time control functions.
Other thermostats, controllers and switches are available upon request.
